After dinner we took a walk around downtown Boston.

Old South Meeting House.

The Old South Meeting House (built 1729), in the Downtown Crossing area of Boston, Massachusetts, gained fame as the organizing point for the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773. 5,000 colonists gathered at the Meeting House, the largest building in Boston at the time.

Boston Irish Famine Memorial.

The Boston Irish Famine Memorial is in memory of the nearly one million people who died during the Irish Potato Famine, which happened during the mid-late 1840s and led to mass emigration to the United States, with Boston in particular. The monument also honors this generation, surviving as immigrants, "great hardship and humiliation, plagued by poverty and disease," according to the memorial's Web site.

Old State House.

The Old State House is a historic government building located at the intersection of Washington and State Streets in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Built in 1713, it is the oldest surviving public building in Boston, and the seat of the state's legislature until 1798. It is now a history museum operated by the Bostonian Society, a nonprofit whose primary focus is the museum. It is one of many historic landmarks that can be visited along the Freedom Trail.

Boston City Hall.

 Boston City Hall (built 1969) is the seat of the municipal government of Boston, Massachusetts. Architecturally, it is an example of the brutalist style. It was designed by Kallmann McKinnell & Knowles. Together with the surrounding plaza, City Hall is part of the Government Center complex, a major urban redesign effort in the 1960s.
