CUBA Trip Continue...
Cuba Day 3.
On day 3 we went out on excursion to Camaguey Colonial(City).
Camagüey.
Camagüey is a city and municipality in central Cuba and is the nation's third largest city. It is the capital of the Camagüey Province. After almost continuous attacks from pirates the original city (founded as Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe around 1515 on the northern coast) was moved inland in 1528. The new city was built with a confusing lay-out of winding alleys that made it easier to defend it from any raiders. There are many blind alleys and forked streets that lead to squares of different sizes. There is only one exit from the city; should pirates ever return and succeed in entering the city, the hope was that the local inhabitants would be able to entrap and kill them.
In July 2008, the old town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Source.
Price - 46(adult), 26(child) in CUBA peso. Hours - 8.00am to 5.30pm.

It was Francisco de Quesada and Aguero who built in the late eighteenth century this mill on their land. Its name comes from one of his daughters is named Isabel de Quesada died in 1822 and the Ingenio passed to her widower Martin del Castillo Betancourt. For several years the place was not to be moved by pulling a mill equipped with charge of working Jamaican sugar and its derivatives. On more than one occasion was mortgaged by its owner at large sum of money in the years 1826 , 1829 , 1835 from last year appears recognized as grinding mill and sugar already in 1873 had 40 cavalry of land bounded.
The new owner machines imported American and updated manufacturing process thereby taking advantage of the plentiful natural river Saramanguacán , whose margins had been built. These techniques undoubtedly increased the yield and production of the mill. Source.
