CUBA Trip Continue...

Cuba Day 3.
On day 3 we went out on excursion to Camaguey Colonial(City).

Camagüey.
Camagüey is a city and municipality in central Cuba and is the nation's third largest city. It is the capital of the Camagüey Province. After almost continuous attacks from pirates the original city (founded as Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe around 1515 on the northern coast) was moved inland in 1528. The new city was built with a confusing lay-out of winding alleys that made it easier to defend it from any raiders. There are many blind alleys and forked streets that lead to squares of different sizes. There is only one exit from the city; should pirates ever return and succeed in entering the city, the hope was that the local inhabitants would be able to entrap and kill them.
In July 2008, the old town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Source.

Martin del Castillo Betancourt sold the mill to his son Martin Quesada castle with 26 slaves and other waxing endowment. In 1859 , along with Angel Castillo referred Agramante ingenuity acquired through his farm Baquilla Juana located southeast of the city of Port au Prince with 65 slaves, it was valued at 12 000.00 100 000.00 pesos and must be committed to pay annual 20 000.00 .
The new owner machines imported American and updated manufacturing process thereby taking advantage of the plentiful natural river Saramanguacán , whose margins had been built. These techniques undoubtedly increased the yield and production of the mill. Source.
